Set to delight both younger girls and boys, Poppy Cat toys, based on the incredibly popular Poppy Cat books, are being made by UK toy company Golden Bear.
The beautifully illustrated Macmillan Book’s Poppy Cat written by Lara Jones has sold an amazing 2.5 million books worldwide. Poppy Cat and friends are a colourful bunch of animal characters much-loved by preschoolers.
The Poppy Cat show debuted on British TV in May 2011, a co-production by Coolabi Productions and King Rollo Films. Series one of Poppy Cat comprised 52 eleven minute episodes.
Rights holder Coolabi has awarded the master toy licence to Golden Bear toys. Golden Bear toys are releasing plush Poppy Cat toys, toy Poppy Cat figures and Poppy Cat playsets.
Poppy Cat plush are packaged by Golden Bear as ‘Poppy Cat Soft Toy’ and are sold in three different sizes.
The Poppy Cat mini figures are called ‘Poppy Cat and Friends’, a cute character set of Poppy Cat and four friends on a backing card.
Look out also for Golden Bear Wind Up Poppy Pogo’s – a great wind-up Poppy Cat that hops along.
Poppy Cat’s Car and Park playset is the ultimate in Poppy Cat toys featuring a soft Poppy Cat, Mo the Mouse, connecting track, car, slide, picnic table and trampoline. The Poppy Cat Adventure Playset includes a colourful playmat.
The similarly-named Poppy Cat Adventure House Playset is new in 2013 and has been designed to look just like Poppy Cat’s House.
Other new releases will include Poppy Cat Stick-on Felts and a Poppy Cat backpack.
Golden Bear Toys and Poppy Cat are a great fit given Golden Bear’s track record in bringing preschool toys to market. Look forward to many more Poppy Cat toys in years to come.
