A new range of Wanda and the Alien toys could be available at retail within months.
The animated TV version of Wanda and the Alien debuts on Channel 5’s Milkshake. The first of an initial run of 52 episodes, each lasting 10 minutes, will be shown from Autumn 2013.
Fans of Wanda and the Alien know these loveable preschool characters from Brighton-based illustrator Sue Hendra’s wonderful series of children’s books.
Wanda, an adventurous young rabbit, befriends a four-eyed alien and shows him the really fun things to do. In turn, the Alien invites Wanda to her planet for a space party.
Wanda and the Alien is a co-production of innovative digital media specialist Komixx Entertainment and the long-established Random House Books. One way Komixx aim to leverage digital content such as Wanda and the Alien is through toy licensing.
So fans of the books and the show can look forward, hopefully, to a new licensed range of Wanda and the Alien toys. Clearly, the brand lends itself to plush toys. A plush Wanda rabbit, talking Wanda toy, and cuddly Alien would be top of fans wishlists.
Other branded merchandise could include Wanda and the Alien figures and Wanda and the Alien playsets such as Wanda’s House and the Alien’s Rocketship.
As yet no master toy licensee has been appointed for Wanda and the Alien toys.
